Useful Library Resources

Library resources can help you find film reviews.

Other Resources

There are many online resources that can be useful for critiquing film.

  • Rotten Tomatoes - Find both critic's reviews and audience ratings. Keep in mind that linked reviews may be behind a paywall. If that is the case, try using library resources for accessible reviews.
  • Metacritic - Similar to Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic aggregates reviews by critics ("Metascores"). You can also find "User Scores." Keep in mind that linked reviews may be behind a paywall. If that is the case, try using library resources for accessible reviews.
  • IMDB - The Internet Movie Database is not a review site, but does have comprehensive information about movies, actors, and other people who work in the industry.

How to Search for Movie Reviews

The below video will show you three methods of searching for movie reviews using library resources.

  3. Once you choose film you will see a list or resources. Make sure that you choose a title that says "Available Online." To see the dates available, you will need to go to the record by clicking on the title, or go directly to the journal by clicking "Available online." available online
