We're seeing lots of students working on writing papers!  Librarians are here to help you do you research in the most effective and efficient way; we can tell you how to get it done better and faster!  You can come to the library for research help in person, or use our 24/7 chat function anytime, anywhere to get help with finding the information you need.

The library subscribes to over 50 online databases that collect millions of articles you can't get through a regular Google search, because they are paid content.  As a Butte College student, you have access to all of this material without paying any more money, so take advantage!  Librarians can help you navigate databases and search for what you need, or check out some of the tools below.

The library has many resources to help you write that paper, from video tutorials to detailed guides to paper writing.  Are you struggling with developing a good topic, or with getting your thesis statement into the right shape?  We've got you covered!

The process of writing a good research paper includes using the library to find the best articles and sources and access good information about the writing process, right down to getting those citations correct.  Stop by or check out our website!

Now that the weather is getting a bit chilly you might find yourself wanting to curl up with a good book. And though we are an academic library, we have many books you can read for fun outside of your studies. Browse for interesting reads in the new books section located on the second floor between the Circulation and Reserve Desks. This section is constantly updated with books on relevant topics as well as more popular picks like best sellers. Drop by often to see what is new!

If you go down to the first floor you will find the Reading Lounge. The reading lounge has books for young adults as well as more popular books. We think of this section as mostly dedicated to reading for fun though you can still learn many things form these books. The Reading Lounge also has a dedicated Graphic Novels section. There is a diverse range of titles so you will surely find something that suits your interest.

Graphic Novel Section

Last but not least, there are tons of books you can read for fun in our Main Collection. Located on the third floor you can brose your favorite subject area or take a look at the literature sections (P call number range).
