Celebrate NLW April 19 - 25

National Library Week is a celebration of the amazing variety of services and resources you can find at your friendly neighborhood library.  The theme for 2020 was originally "Find your place at the library,"  --  which you can still do because we have so much available online -- in fact, you can "Find the library at your place."

Take a look at our NLW guide, where you will find many helpful suggestions for your classwork -- and things to do with your kids.  And, celebrate reading with us by taking a quarantine shelfie and posting in your social media, and sending it to us to post on ours!   A shelfie can be a photo of your bookshelf, or just the book you're reading.  We're giving #shelfies a 2020 twist by taking them with our masks on.  We'd love to see yours, so send them to referenceli@butte.edu.

Times are difficult right now, but libraries want to help us get through this time together.

Now that things have calmed down a bit after the switch to remote learning, you may be considering registering for summer or fall classes. As you search for classes, you might want to consider a class with a Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC). These classes should offer free online textbook options, which means that if we ever need to switch to remote teaching, or have power outages again, you will always have access to you textbook.

Here is how to find Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) classes in the class schedule:

  1. Navigate to the class schedule. Check the box that says "Only Show Low Cost Classes." Click the "Search" button.

  2. You should now see a list of classes with the Zero Textbook Cost icon. These classes should have books with no cost. Most should be available online.
