2024 is shaping up to be an important election year, and not just because we're electing the next US President. That's important, but there are local issues being decided as well, and your vote is important in choosing what Butte County, and California, will look like in future. Here are some resources you can use to inform yourself about the upcoming decisions:
- Register to vote, or check whether you are registered. If you want to vote, you must register by October 21.

- There are TEN propositions on the California ballot. Find out what they're about.
- Measure H is a Butte County decision that will fund county services such as fire, public safety, police, and library. While nobody likes to pay taxes, the county is out of money. All possible cuts have been made, and yet without this measure, we stand to lose:
- three rural fire stations
- adequate safety and sheriff services, including for children, mental health, and homelessness
- the entire public library system
- Measure H has been endorsed by both parties and by pretty much every county leader and organization. View a news story!
